Household Garbage is collected twice a week, including every holiday except Christmas Day. Regular collection may be interrupted during hurricane warnings. Be sure to check the City website for special instructions.
Residents provide their own household garbage containers which cannot exceed 50 pounds when filled. Place your containers at the curb on collection day by 7:00 a.m. Please wrap sharp objects and place them in a bag before inserting into the garbage container.
Do NOT include Household Hazardous Waste in household garbage containers, See Household Hazardous Waste section below for details on disposal.
If you are disabled or elderly and cannot bring your household garbage to the curb, please call the Public Works Department at 954-946-7386 to request side-yard pickup.
For missed household garbage pickup or bulk trash/yard waste pickup, please contact Waste Management at 954-974-7500, and select Option #3.
Household Hazardous Waste & Electronic Disposal
Effective October 1, 2014, Lighthouse Point residents can once again utilize the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection site at 2780 N. Powerline Road, Pompano Beach, FL. Electronic components are also accepted. That facility is open every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for residents to drop-off items. You will need to provide a driver’s license or other proof of residency. The City will no longer conduct the semi-annual HHW events at Frank McDonough Park.
